Yahoo Directory Is Finally Dead

Back in September, Yahoo announced that it would shut down the Yahoo Directory, its oldest service, and the one that put the company on the map to begin with.

The Yahoo Directory now redirects to Aabaco. When you go to the Yahoo Directory, dir.yahoo.com now redirects you to aabacosmallbusiness.com.

Google Launches Adwords Apps On Android

Google has officially launched an AdWords app on Android to manage aspects of their ads. This is the first time Google has launched a native app for monitoring and managing AdWords campaigns. This app is available globally for existing Adwords customers.

It gives you limited functionality over your campaigns including:

• View campaign stats (impressions, clicks, click-through rate as well as cost and conversions)
• Update bids and budgets (Campaign suggestions are also available)
• Get real-time alerts and notifications
• Act on suggestions to improve your campaigns
• Call a Google expert

Google's latest 'Hummingbird' update aims to make Google smarter at understanding conversational search questions.

Hummingbird is the biggest change to the inner workings of the world's most popular search engine since Google's "Caffeine", which sped up Google's indexing of sites and delivery of search results.

Why is it called Hummingbird? Google told us the name come from being “precise and fast.”

Hummingbird is paying more attention to each word in a query, ensuring that the whole query – the whole sentence or conversation or meaning – is taken into account, rather than particular words. The goal is that pages matching the meaning do better, rather than pages matching just a few words.
